Study | Impacts of ambient air quality on acute asthma hospital admissions during the COVID-19 pandemic in Oxford City, UK: a time-series study

Our recent study investigated the association between exposure to ambient air pollution and the risk of hospital admission for asthma in Oxford City. Published in BMJ Open, our research reveals that air quality improvements during lockdown were associated with in a 41% reduction in hospital stays for adult asthma during 2020 as compared to the pre-pandemic years (2015-2019).
